One gets to a certain point in life where each day becomes merely a series of routines: rise up, clean up, eat up, and most importantly remember to keep up…with everything. And today wouldn’t have been much of an exception until I heard the news about David Carradine.
It was in the morning, somewhere between my first cup of coffee and an English muffin, when I heard his name mentioned during a special news brief on the television. I ignored the announcement at first; distracted by thoughts of work, and beating early onset traffic. This all changed, of course, with the subsequent words: death, apparent, and suicide. I stopped immediately mid-sip from my drink and stared blankly up at the tv. The face of the aged actor whose works brought back a flood of childhood memories scrolled across the screen. It didn’t take long for the shock to be replaced by instant sadness, and loss at a man who in my opinion was nothing short of an industry icon.
